The beginning of the prickles

I have been planning to start this blog for quite a while but never quite got round to it.

I had planned to start with an explanation of the name and to describe this blog as a mixture of memories and anecdotes about life in Israel.

However LIFE seems to have taken over and I feel I should start this blog with an account of what is happening in Israel now.

Not very original and, I suspect, hardly unique but then this is only supposed to be a blog of an ordinary person.
